IMPORTANCE OF SITE VISIT








Site visit is as crucial as building your project. Most clients I have met hardly visit their site once their project has commenced just because they have a trustee on the site but this wrong.

Its an exciting experience to visit your construction site while your home is being built.

The following are some of the importance of site visits;

1. Meet the construction team - 90% of those working in any construction site around hardly knows the owner of the project they are working on.
They hardly visit their site just because they have their supervisors who keeps them updated on what is happening on the site and if they visit they hardly interact with the construction workers..If you having a construction site just make a habit of having regular visits and its healthy to interact with the workers and don't forget to complement them on the quality of work they are doing, this brings a wide smile on their faces and at the same time they feel special too
                       

2.Provide support to the construction team - visiting your construction site demonstrates the support you have for the project and the workers on site. Anything can happen on the site and you being seen by the workers on regular bases they tend to develop that feeling of support from you and it could be much better if you lend them an ear for complaints.

3. Understand  construction team much better - visiting your construction site and interacting with the workers helps you understand their strengths and weaknesses of which you can utilize their strengths while helping them with their weaknesses.

 4.Offer construction workers with knowledge - working in a construction site sometimes is tiresome and it can dull workers senses, you coming in with new  eyes and fresh mind enables site supervisors see things that are going wrong which the construction workers may have missed by giving them a refreshing outlook to the project and providing simple solutions to problems.

5.To see firsthand what happening on your project - having visits on your site enables you to understand your project progress properly than reading it from project progress report written by your  supervisor.


In conclusion visiting your construction site provides you with a better understanding of your project, you may also see problems arising construction team sees them and finally you can help construction team to solve some of the problems that may come up.

Black cotton soil is mostly found in the central and western parts of kenya.  Black  cotton soil is favorable  for producing cotton plant. It is also referred to as expansive soil because it tends to expand when wet  and shrinks during dry period. its good to understand that not all black soil expand and not soil that expand is black Building a foundation on black cotton soil is too risky and caution should be taken before any work commences.
